Apple is phasing out the iPod, its most popular device even before the
massive popularity of the iPhone and new technologies.
It's long been known that Apple M makes iPods, not to mention that you
can find them in their official stores, but even so, there are a few thousand
scattered around.
However, with the new modification announced by the company, iPods will
not receive any repairs from the Worldwide Device Service.
This will render the 4th generation iPod shuffle, 7th generation iPod
nano, and 5th generation iPod touch models obsolete.
Fortunately, the sixth and seventh generation iPod touch will still be
around, but it's only a matter of time before Apple cancels it entirely.
It should be made clear that "discontinued" iPods will not
stop working, as owners can still use them. The problem in question will arise
when for some reason a repair or a part of it needs to be replaced.
Hence, the mentioned iPod models will move to the list of obsolete
devices from September 30th.
